A deeper level of democracy

Democracy is a strange word. In one sense, it is an informal way of affirming that we all have a say, that an organisation is “democratic”. In a formal sense, it is a national political system.

In the UK, for instance, we have the opportunity to vote for a Member of Parliament but then delegate them power to act on our behalf for five years.
